The purpose of this tracking is to identify under-utilised government vehicles in departments’ fleets when they are parked at departmental garages during business hours.
Each time the vehicle enters and leaves the department’s “home” or” garage” location, it will be monitored by the GPS tracker. VicFleet will not track the driver’s behaviour or routes the driver has taken.
All vehicles fitted with GPS trackers will have signage placed in the vehicle and the log-book identifying that the vehicle is fitted with a GPS tracking device.
