NABERS is an independent, nationally-recognised official rating system used to measure the environmental performance of Australian buildings and tenancies and its impact on the environment. Buildings can achieve NABERS ratings for energy, water, waste and indoor air quality.
The Shared Service Provider (SSP), and partners in service delivery JLL, manage the tenancy at 2 Lonsdale Street and worked with JLL’s Energy and Sustainability team to provide the specific sustainability information to complete the certification.
Relevant energy data was available through JLL’s Energy and Sustainability Portal, ESP, and all required supporting information was promptly provided so the team was able to complete the certification within just six weeks.
The CitySwitch program supports improvements in office-based accommodation to improve their energy and waste efficiency and requires at least one certified NABERS rating in order to be eligible for the prestigious CitySwitch awards.
Commitment to the Cityswitch program emphasises the department’s dedication to understanding their department’s performance as the Victorian Government strives for its net zero by 2050 target.
The 6-star NABERS rating achieved for the DELWP tenancy at Levels 9-11 and Levels 13-14 at 2 Lonsdale Street in Melbourne is valid for 12 months to July 2020. This achievement represents outstanding market-leading performance and endorses DELWP and SSP’s commitment to achieving better environmental sustainability outcomes.
